Shabach

My name is Shabach Muriithi and it has been almost a month since I got into an intensive tech training program. I have learned quite a lot on a number of tech subjects that I will be exploring in this personal profile.

Backend Programming

Python

In this class I was introduced to backend programming using python. Some of the things that have stood out for me so far are:

  1. Python is a high level Language created in 1991 by Guido Van Rossum.
  2. Can be used to build a wide range of applications including but not limited to; web applications, AI, mobile apllications.
  3. Python is an interpreted language.
  4. The python interpreter allows us to interact with python though the shell.
  5. Python requires minimal set ups.

DAS

Das

This classes focuses mostly on data and has a lot to do with mathematical concepts than others. My key take aways have been:

  1. Computers only understand binary language i.e 1 and 0
  2. A compueter can either be 32 bit or 64 bit machine
  3. Data structures are containers that store data.
  4. Arrays store data in memory and are contigous
  5. Data is stored in RAM in the order in which is is created.

Frontend Web

Frontend

In this class we have been focused on frontend part of web applications

  1. Used HTML to buils simple website.
  2. Thre are three thypes of elements; block, inline, empty.
  3. Block elements take up the entire width of a screen.
  4. Inline elements don't start on a new line

Quality Assuarance

  1. There are various types of SDLC models such as waterfall, agile, big bang.
  2. An application has to go through functional and non funtional tests before it can be released to the market
  3. A bug is a flaw in a software that causes it to behave unxepectedly.

Mobile Application Development

  1. We are using a programming language called Kotlin.
  2. Variables are storage containers for data.
  3. Variables can either be mutable or immutable.
  4. Mutable variables are declared using val keyword.
